Matte, Satin or Gloss Black Stripes?
I have a IOM SS and I'm getting stripes put on but I'm having a hard time choosing between matte, satin and gloss. Below is a pic of the car. The wheels are a matte gunmetal and I don't have any immediate plans to tint the windows.
I was leaning towards satin or gloss black or dark charcoal. They can also match the vinyl to my wheels which was another option I was considering. That would be a gloss metallic dark charcoal colour. I'm open to suggestions! |

I personally like matte and think that would go well with your wheels

I'm also a fan of Matte. 2nd choice would be gloss.

I prefer gloss or satin - it just depends on car color. I'd do gloss if I had your car. Don't care for the matte finish at all. If you like to keep you car clean and shiny, I figure it should ALL look clean and shiny. Matte doesn't give you that.

Yes I do like to keep it very clean all the time which is why I was leaning towards the gloss.

Matte is kinda a pain when you wax your car as you will need to tape off the stripes or the wax will mess them up. I would go gloss to add more pop.

Here's a look at my stripes.. Satin finish, but somewhere between matte and satin actually.
They are painted on, not decals.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone!
I was also thinking of going with a dark metallic gloss charcoal for the stripes. That would match the wheels but it would not be matte. My only concern going with a matte is the maintenance. I like to keep the car spotless as much as possible and I think matte would show everything. |

First I went with Dark Metallic Charcoal to match the stock midnight silver 20s, Then I went with Gloss Black. I still wasn't happy until I went with the MATTE. I think MATTE looks the best IMO.
