I need to get emission done this month. Just realized. Nervous. I think they use the OBD II

Not right now. They brand new in garage. I have tendency to break all my cats so I left off. Just a lil broke was hoping could get away with not putting on right now. Guess not

NYS inspect is visual only. They MIGHT look to see your O2 sensors are hooked up and that there is no code light on the dash.

I thought they hooked up your computer to albany and if it had any discrepancies you fail, and was all throughout NYS.

I looked it up & it says they hook up to OBD II port but in Bronx they had exhaust sniffer

This is what my nitrous guru told me just weeks ago. He is a mechanic. I will email him to get the specifics.

As far as I know, when the car is new, only the safety inspection is done, not the emissions. Mine is due this month, so I'll see. But I think they do the safety only for the first few years.

Heard a rumor that NY was doing away with emissions inspections completely as of January. Not sure how true this is.
