Camaro ZL1 vs Lamborghini Murcielago
I'm weighing my options between the ZL1 and 2003 Murcielago 6-speed [no e-gear]. A life long dream if you will to own a Lamborghini. However, I reside in a small beach community on the central Florida east coast and the closest Lamborghini Mechanic-Dealer is in Longwood near Orlando. With traffic it's about a two hour trek. Traffic in Orlando is horrendous. Imagine towing your ZL1 from Santa Barbara to downtown L.A.? Get my drift? That said, if I can't locate a Lamborghini qualified mechanic in my area then I'm considering the 2012/13 ZL1. The ZL1 is great bang for your buck and I like the automatic option, and I can drive less than 15 minutes to my local Chevy Dealer if repairs are needed. Less hassles and money left over and ZL1 can be a daily driver if I want. The decision is not based on money but the hassle factor dealing with repairs because Lamborghini cars should only serviced from an authorized Dealer.
2013 Murcielago ( $130k - $200k ) vs Camaro ZL1 ( $40k - $60k ) http://www.catsexotics.com/web/used/...ngton/1169155/ Or Camaro ZL1: Thanks in Advance. |

I think you already answered you own question with the ZL1. But if it has been your dream to own a Lambo and you can...Do it! You will regret it other wise...
How often do you think the Lambo will need to see a mechanic? Just my opinion |

Keep in mind that Lambo clutches tend to last 10,000 miles or less. So every 10,000 miles you will need an amazingly expensive clutch job.
The cars are far more expensive than people realize, which is why you see so many used ones for sale with low mileage. |

HawkGirl. Repairs can be expensive because the engine and rear end must be removed and pulled apart. A new clutch will set you back about $10k.

Out of curiosity....how did you end up putting the ZL1 as your second option? Don't get me wrong, I love the ZL1 and dream of owning one but if my budget was over 100k I could throw about 5 other cars in the mix AS WELL to compare with. Granted you could buy the ZL1 and throw 60k into it and have a Lambo destroyer!

If looking Lambo get a Gallardo as it's much less to maintain compared with the Murci. Clutch will still run ya 7-8k. You can find nice 06 07 G's for 110-125 and even 07 converts for 130. Like someone else posted you can get the ZL1 and put $ into and make it fast but it's still no exotic like the Lambo.

Get the Lambo. The green calipers are sweet.

In my opinion, if you truly want to own a Lambo, you don't care what the consequences are. You kind of have to be a die-hard because they are such an impractical car. I question whether or not you really want one, and IMO to make a purchase like that without 100% dedication will lead to major regret. It sounds like a Lambo purchase for you will be the equivalent of "your boat" - your two favorite days are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

ZL1 unless the cost of lambo repairs doesn't bother you.
