Angry GOLF BALL DESTROYS MY REAR WINDOW!!

So it was a beautiful fall day here in NYC so I deceided to wash my car. I live behind a golf course but in five years living here i've never seen a ball.

I keep my car in the garage, but always wash it in the same shady spot. Just as i was doing my final rinse..... smash!!!! my rear window explodes as the ball bounces off the car and lands perfectly next to it. It was a direct hit on the bottom left corner, against the deck speaker.

Sooo after climbing the 6ft fence and running around like an idiot looking for the guy that hurt my baby, i met the course gm and they are not responsible. Luckily i have geico, and they are sending a company to my house to replace the glass. my question is....

Am I better off going to the dealer to get an OEM window?? or is this company "safe light" thats going to do the repair just as good.
HELP

I have only had "safe light" do windshields for us so far, never a back window though. I have not had any problems with them. But that's just me. In and out in about 20-30 minutes each time too.

Just tell them you want an OE glass and they will get it for you. Don't let them talk you into an aftermarket 1.

Just like walmart is not liable for anything that happens in thier parking lot. They have...A "SIGN" that says they are not responsible... Yep, that's about it. And they will stand by it too.

Well your paint is probably scratched too! this is probably a bigger deal than you realize.
Also go to the dealer so the defogger and antenna are hooked up properly

You're living my nightmare.

I live on a golf course as well, but the house normally gets hit with 2-6 golf balls a day on the weekend.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, and I wish your Camaro a speedy recovery.

Even worse is the glass all over the paint. Im going to have to vaccum it off so i dont scratch the paint ... they guy was cool, he said if insurance didnt cover it we would "work something out" but i'm going through insurance.... just wondering about OEM window situation.

good news actually, it didn't dent the car. The window can be easily replaced and nobody will know the difference. One of the risks in living at a golf course.

First off....you're actually lucky it was the glass. Two inches to the left of back and you would be doing body work and paint touch up.

Second...I would push the golf course for the deductible. Actually I think if you could find the person that did it they are technically responsible but I bet you could press the golf club for at least the deductible.

I'm lucky, I don't have to pay the deductible. Its covered under my policy, and my policy won't go up. Your right could of been worse... body of the Camaro, or my head or teeth
