Catch Cans on SS?

I thought the benefit of the Catch Can (air/oil separator) was primarily for DI (Direct Injected) engines. Since the V8 Camaro's are not DI, wouldn't a catch can be a bit of a waste?

Take off your throttle body and look inside the intake. All that oil is going to go somewhere, and without a catch can it will likely end up going into the combustion chamber where it will burn or accumulate on the back side of the intake valves. I checked mine before and after the catch can, the difference is amazing. Some will say a catch can is a waste of $$, but I don't think so.

I put one on, haven't checked it yet, but I only have about 200 miles on since the install. Then it got cold. Also I stole a new Morosso for $73 on eBay . Too cheap to not buy

Emptied mine again a week ago and was like, glad all that crap is not going back into my engine.

Isn't it true the the more the merrier? It's what I live by. I have no idea how my last three vehicles that were not direct injected V8's survived for those 200K plus miles without a catch can...just dumb luck I guess!

I don't doubt that the catch can works. However with constant stream of high quality detergent fuel keeping the valves clean (lacking in DI engines), is there really any benefit?

I understand completely for DI engines. Are the V8 engines DI or not? I have found conflicting information.

I check my intake and there's never any oil in there. Guess it's just luck.

First, let's clarify something. This is 2016. The SS V8 is DI
I went ahead and fixed that for you

OIC, then the Gen5 V8 is multiport fuel injected. Gen6 is DI.

Multiport fuel injection injects fuel into the intake ports just upstream of each cylinder's intake valve, so a catch can would be of dubious value.

Wonder if I could take the CC off my Camaro and install it on my Terrain?
