GTechniq W2

I wanted to post just a short little review of this new all-in-one cleaner that I've been using from GTechniq. I love this stuff, it's so versatile, it's really cheap, and it flat out WORKS.

From the GTechniq website:

Use the below chart to determine the best dilution strength for your needs.

Engine bays 1:1
Grease 2:1
Wax stripping 5:1
Hoods 5:1
Paint oxidation 5:1
Heel marks 5:1
Grills 5:1
Carpet 7:1
Counters 10:1
Vinyl 10:1
Fiberglass 10:1
Air conditioners 10:1
Driveways 10:1
Tools 10:1
Smoke films 10:1
Alloy wheels 10:1
Cloth furniture 10:1
Leather 10:1
Walls 20:1
Stainless steel 20:1
Outdoor furniture 20:1
Chrome 20:1
Steam cleaning 50:1
Window cleaner 120:1

So you can see that even though it comes in a 100mL bottle, it'll last you a while at these dilutions.

I've used it with success on cloth, leather, and plastics with great success. I really like this for interior cleaning especially.

So, when I was outside today doing my other review, I noticed the threads on my steering wheel were pretty dingy from the oils on my hands. I decided to take a few shots of me cleaning them up with W2 for you guys. This was a 10:1 dilution, by the way.

Anyway, that's just one example of this very capable and cost effective cleaner. I'd recommend you give it a shot.

I often wondered why other apc's don't give a clear dilution chart for various applications. I wish this worked for the gallon of Adams APC I have.

Yeah Adam's is already WAY more diluted. GTechniq took a different approach by making a super concentrated cleaner that the user can tweak to the specific application. I still keep my gallons of Adam's APC, it's incredibly useful for larger jobs like tires, engine bays, etc. I really like W2 for the interior though.

Keep a bottle at full strength for nasty jobs, and one diluted down 50:50 for all regular cleaning. That's how I have them in my garage, and the 50:50 bottle gets used on all but the dirtiest jobs.

One of the main reasons we don't offer highly concentrated chemicals is due to our 110% guarantee. We want the products to go out the door, ready to use, and be used in the manner that we suggest. That's how we ensure the end user will get the results we guarantee.

If we sold them as concentrates and expected them to be diluted how we suggested, there's a lot of room for error. What if it got mixed 1:5 instead of 5:1? What if the water you're using is AWFUL and full of minerals? What if you want to use the metric system? That would make it tough for us to guarantee great results.

It's just a bonus that our APC can be diluted down and still be an effective cleaner, but can be used as full strength with no wild side effects to worry about.

Great job, man! If you want to prevent further wear on your steering wheel, get one of those $10 stretch neoprene steering wheel covers at Autozone. They offer pretty good grip and are very elastic, so you can take them right on and off unlike a snug genuine steering wheel cover that takes a lot of elbow grease to remove/install.

I use one and only take it off at shows when I want the actual steering wheel exposed and have since put no add'l wear on the steering wheel. I figure that if I'm not at a show, nobody is really paying attention anyway.

It really wasn't too bad. That was the first time I got in there and cleaned the stitching in the nearly four years I've owned it.

Had a hellacious fight with the lady friend tonight... So I went out to go clean my interior top to bottom in the dark because that's how weird I am.

Thought I'd show you how my 10:1 W2 made quick work of a ink stain on the seat

Did we just become best friends?

Nothing like some La Santa, best bang for your buck.

I'm just polishing off (see what I did there) the last bit of my Macallan 18 I shelled out for last weekend.
