I got my order in on 8-23-2012 getting the Blue Ray Metallic 6 speed with the hood insert. We are going to have the interior stitching re-done to match the color. Status is 1100 my dealer ship says he has allocations for 3. I have the first one. Hopping for no strike here. I really hope I get it by Christmas!!!!!! HO HO HO

Congrats! My original order was for Imperial Blue Metalic. It was discontinued so I got black. I love the black, but so hard to keep clean as mine is my daily driver.

Congrats again and please post pics when you get the beast.

I placed my order on 10/7. I received a call from my dealer today stating that there is a constraint on the carbon fiber hood insert. I decided to remove this so i will have the grey painted insert that comes on the 2013's. Has anyone had this come up on any of their orders? I wasn't sure if there was some new issues with the carbon fiber hood insert. I know there was an issue with the 2012 models but wasn't sure what the current story might be.

I would guess that the ECF may go on constraint from time to time simply because the OEM can't keep up with the demand. Producing a carbon fiber insert that will have the weave visible takes a lot more work to get the weave nice and uniform.

Thank you, we'll I went forward and advised to do the stock grey insert. I was able to see in person and I am happy with the way it looks. Was hoping for ECF but I fear that waiting isn't a good idea. Plus dealer advised this was their only allocation left.

Got the same call today. Going to discuss with my dealer, but of all the things I had to have, the CF insert is lowest on the list. I may nix that, but that would be the ONLY thing I would consider losing on my short list of my "must haves".

When I was ordering mine I wanted the CF insert and the black wheels. He told me that he had to look into it because even though they had an allocation for a ZL1 they had to have separate allocations for the CF insert and black wheels.

I got the same call, but I am going to try to wait a bit longer and see if I can order the car with all of the options that I want. I think that the exposed carbon fiber looks infinitely better on the Inferno Orange Metallic than the gray insert.

my order # is QQTRH0, waiting on the dealer to pick up an allocation, added the exposed carbon fiber hood insert which makes any exterior color pop - well worth the wait IMO, especially thru a long winter season. i know one thing: i'm gonna be like a kid in a candy shop when it comes in!

I waited for the hood and NAV, it is going to be a item in the long run people want. It would be like if a stinger hood on a 67 vet was not ordered.
Think about it. My car is built and bayed.
