Manual. Why would you get a V8 SS with the auto? Might as well get the V6 if you do that.

30% for v8's i do believe is quite a low #.

with the power and the emissions, people are going to go for the 1SS over the LT/LS version in my opinion just for the status..but i could be wrong, have been in the past

firstly that is another post in itself, not to be continued here (let a dead thread die!)

im getting a v8 auto, just since a) i dont know how to drive a stick nor do i wanna learn on my new 30k+ car. b) traffic's a bitsh around me, and being with girlfriends who had stick shifts driving in that can cause more anger then a broken fingernail fresh from the salon, c) grantid its not a true sportscar without one, but frankly i could care less about the popular and just go for style, substance, and functionality

I guess those are valid points. I have a daily driver so the 6-speed won't be a big deal for me. Plus I learned to drive on a 5-speed so that's not an issue.

LOL ... either way ... if it is on, that would be 30k V8's total out of the 100k .. that being said ... if they have done 6k total w/ 80% V8s .. there are still a lot of V8s to be built ..

ok not everyone jump down my throat but i was thinking maybe gm did the whole "bonafide sold orders" early is to get an "estimation" on what is actually going to be popular the first quarter and MAYBE the second quarter..and is that 70/30 split speculation or a fact because maybe they could have done it for the reason as well....thoughts anyone?

GM did the pre-orders so they could prepare themselves for initial production. They're not stupid. They will build the V8'e that we want, plus get V6's on the floors of dealers and then more V6's will be sold. IMO

I'm curious, Does the general public know that they can order a Camaro yet?
General public = people that don't go to websites such as this.

yes.

local dealerships even in rural cities are now broadcasting they are taking orders on the new camaro

most dealerships are also labeling it on their website with a flash icon provided by GM (im a web designer and do a majority of random changes for all ranges of clients, we had a few sites want this addition..but they wanted me to make an image, which i refused due to legal obligations from GM).

so yea, general public know, however it comes down to whos around the TV during the times they broadcast it (between 4pm EST and 8pm EST on basic cable only)

I'd say that at this time...not much of the general public knows...unless you happen to be shopping for a Chevrolet right now, and even then, I;m not convinced the dealers are pushing a car they could sell in six months instead of one they could sell now. Plus those "general public" people who are looking at new Chevy's more than likely needs them now and not nine months from now.
