I got the dash kit for free, because I have had a lot of problems with my sound system, through this audio store, and they wanted to be generous. And they gave a $100 bucks of a new pioneer head unit.

looks cool. I would like to see a single DIN using the Metra Kit because my head unit is a single DIN and I am not trading one of the best audiophile heads for a new double din.
Aside from the speaker what else was difficult in the install of the Metra kit? Where did you mount the speaker for Onstar? |

There appears to be more to the install than what is in the manual. I am sure a good shop can figure it out. I have no idea where the speaker is or anything else since he ran in to this later in the day Friday. I will tell more info once I find out. |

It would be interesting to see this kit with the top half painted black to mimic the factory appearance a bit more. Can anyone photoshop one of these pics to show it with black from those contours at the middle to the top?

Here is some info hot off the press from a Metra Engineer.
He will be speaking to my tech on Monday and I will report what we find out. "I don't know if the antenna adaptor was included, but it should be, and no speaker is necessary for OnStar. The SWC adaptor is built in to the kit - nothing else should be required." Thanks |

IndPowr got a question. I have seen the photos of Feslers install and yours now. It seems like the Metra trim plate could hug the dash better. Just from the photos.
Now does this have anything to do with the Double Din head units being used for the depth clearance? Just curious if the Metra trim can be perfectly flush to the dash like the OEM radio. Other than that it does look super nice. Im going to buy this kit in the coming weeks so I want get some install tips regarding the fit. |
