You won't pass unless you "know" a smog tech'. Some people I know pay as much as $300 to techs' they know. In my parts, law enforcement is getting better at knowing what to look for and if parts have CARB numbers. If they even question it, you'll get sent to the State smog referee. I believe the first offense can be as low as $150 and top out at $250. I know from experience A good tuner should be able to get your car past the sniffer, with cats', but it's the visual that will get you.

If you want headers, shorties with CARB numbers will be the only way to go to stay legal here. GMPP is said to be obtaining CARB numbers and I expect Edelbrock and probably Pace Setter to have shorties with numbers too in a while. Don't expect too much of a gain though

+1

BUT, to add, I could have sworn that removing the cats is a $1,500 fine.

With my 05 Mustang GT if you did any aftermarket work you had to have the car retuned or the onboard computer would try to overcompensate potentially screw things up. I take it that the computer on the Camaro is more forgiving?

Is there a sound clip available yet for this header/exhaust system ? I've had to keep my radio off to hear the GM factory exhaust...way too quiet !!

could you pm me the special pricing? Also, will a self-install guide or anything be made for those wanting to take on this task in their driveway?

The first pull with the headers was untuned the next pull was tuned the PCM is forgiving but you still need a tune.

Not yet from us we have'nt done another install yet. We don't do a ton of installs on the production stuff.

I am not raising my BS flag but all I am saying is that I gained about 13whp with a set of long tube headers, 3" HFC and an air filter on my LS7 Z06(no tune though). I don't know how you guys are pulling 32whp with a set of similar headers(I have LGMotorsports).
