Help with model choice! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

quick question, i am having a problem deciding which model to purchase, im 16 and my parents are buying me a camaro shortly after christmas and im having trouble deciding wether not to get a 2LT or a 1SS, the catch is that if i got the 2LT i would have the new transformers package on it and i personally think it looks amazing, but i dont want to have a v6! these are my only two options. help!

Then get a 1SS.

Simple.

Why get something that you don't want?

Get an SS..................you'd only regret it later.

I'd rather have a stripped SS than a loaded V6.

If you're going to get a car in order to compete with somebody else; that's just ridiculous.

My advice: Get a V6. You definitely don't sound mature enough to get a Camaro SS.

MHO...Firstly, you need to come to grips on why you don't want a V6. Is it just a status thing? Remember that the V6 in today's Camaro is much more powerful than the V8 I had in my '79 Camaro. Would you drive the same in either a V6 or a V8? I hope you don't plan on street racing. Opt for the V6 if it's a daily driver for you and the fact you love the style. If you feel you need the SS for status, then you have your answer there as well.

You don't have to compete with anybody. If thats the only reason you want a v8 I think you should just get the 2lt.. You don't have anything to prove do you?.. Doesn't really sound like you'll be happy with either one though(although you should be especially since you're not the one paying for it.). Sounds like what you really want is a 2ss with the transformers package...

a few reasons why i would go for the v8 is because, its obviously more powerful, and i would get it in black and then i could black everything out. that to me would also look amazing.
