i do believe the car ran high 11's with stock tires. im guessing they did runs with both sets of tires. But you can say, why didn't they tell you what it did with the drag rad. on? They need to maybe show the video of both. I do agree that this car doing high 11's is nothing spectacular. Thats what it should be doing, right. I love the car though.

They also showed time slips with 1.6x and 1.7 60's on OE tire. (not buying it unless they poured gallons of track prep on, to the point of removing skin from bone if one walked over it).

I'd say the ZL1 cut 1.6x 60' times and went 11's if we can agree the GT500 would go 1.5x and 10.99

When better weather gets here 11's will happen completely stock. As for the 10.99 gt500 that's gonna be a hard number to hit but I think it's possible with a stud driver.

I'm sure 11.99 is possible, I was referencing the 1.6x 60' time on 'stock' tires.

I don't think a bone stock GT500 on stock tires at stock weight will every run 10.99....or 11.09....or 11.19. IMHO, an 11.4 is possible, but traction becomes such a big issue as you are able to lay down more power, that on the stock rubber, I just don't see it.

Slicks or a good pair of drag radials and a driver that REALLY knows what they are doing....hmmmm....becomes possible.

A bone stock ZL1 absolutely should see 11.9x, perhaps slightly quicker. MPH will be way off the GT500 (its that power to weight thing), but less power in a heavier car *should* be able to put together a better ET to MPH package.

Of course I've been wrong before, and I hope I'm wrong again...but that's how I see it.

Yep no way on a 1.6, and a 1.7 is also highly improbable. I could see maybe mid to high 1.8 on a prepped track in good air.

But that said MN6 ZL1 will go 11.8's stock once someone is willing to slip out the clutch and abuse it.

According to autoblog http://www.autoblog.com/2012/05/04/2...11-93-seconds/ --

"The times quoted in the press release – 11.93 for the auto and 11.96 for the manual – were recorded on the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires. According to Chevrolet, the team knocked about a tenth of a second off those numbers with the Mickey Thompson drag tires."

John....you and I are on the same page. BTW...was down at Vengeance Racing today....saw an old article with your LS1Tech car - neat stuff!

Goldenbear....with all due respect...most people (at least most drag racers) simply think GM/Chevy is full of it with respect to those runs - which were supposedly done with stock Goodyear's obtaining 1.6x 60 ft. It is not the ET nor MPH that we have issues with - it is the 60 ft.

But its been beat to death...so that's all I'll say (again) on that one.

It's worth noting that they probably had great air when they ran those times. No leaves on the trees in the videos

Ya, I think that's pretty obvious. Plus, the much improved times starting to come in now as the weather cools down.
