DSS driveshaft vibration??

I installed a DSS aluminum driveshaft and the car has a vibration at 75 mph and up. It was used but it came from DSS and they checked balance before shipping it to me. When I went to install it I was talking to my tuner and he said a 1 piece driveshaft is prone to vibration, I guess he was right. Does anyone else notice this after installing a 1 piece?

I have had two different ones from DSS 1 for the stock stuff and 1 for the Hammerhead no vibration. Give them a call I'm sure they will make it right. If your tracking your car it's just a matter of time before the stock one lets go. I have seen the underside of a Camaro where a stock one let go, it's not a pretty sight.

I have a DDS driveshaft also in my M6 and it is just as smooth as stock.
I see your in Indiana. Mike Norris did a awesome job of tuning my Ls3 with a V3 supercharger. But he does not like the 1 piece driveshaft. I think he has gotten a few bad ones in.

He may not like them, but there's no way the stock one will stand up to what your doing with it (11.71). Just a matter of time. The car that I saw at the dealer that let go was a mess. It took out both gas tanks, the heat shields and bashed the floor severely to the point that they took the seats an carpet out to try to straighten the floor the best they could. That car is scarred for life.

DSS stands behind there products call them.

I didn't do the install, Mike Norris motorsports was doing some converter work on it so I had them install it. So I'm not sure if it is or what your talking about. How can I tell if its installed right?

No problem, the two rubber donuts are gone now, maybe a little road noise. Those rubber torsion rings are to stop the transmission of road noise and driveline noise up the drive line. My stock driveshaft had one bolt completly missing and one that was very loose when I found the issue. So I went through all 12 with loctite and a re-torque. When I finally changed to the DSS shaft there were more loose ones and a bunch of bent ones.

The adapter plate that bolts to the transmission has a mark on it, and there's a mark on the driveshaft...those 2 marks should be lined up.

Theres a measurement that needs to be checked to make sure the cv is in the sweet spot. For some reason some cars need a little longer shaft, its rare but weve seen it a few times.Give me a call and I can explain how to check it.Ive been 190 plus with mine many many times with no vibrations.
