My new Camaro came in yesterday and...

it's the WRONG COLOR! I ordered the Imperial Blue Metallic with Gray interior, but it was silver with black interior. The dealer admitted his mistake right away, and was extremely apologetic. He offered to order a new one for me at cost, or I could buy the silver one under his cost. When I told my son, he almost cried!

I do like the silver, but I really wanted the blue. He did a search but couldn't find one that was comparable enough, so I ordered another one. I told him that my problem now was that I am currently driving an older Chevy ('98 Lumina w/ 190k mi.) that runs fine, but has no air conditioning. So I told him to fix my air conditioning at no charge, and to re-order my car for the original deal ($400 over invoice.) He agreed.

But as you can guess, I am more than a little disappointed. My son and I have been tracking this thing on a daily basis, and counting the minutes. Now I have to wait all over again. Hopefully this time will be the charm.

I agree with you, I would not be to happy with them making a mistake like that.

At least they're willing to make it right and then some. Props to the dealer for that!
What's the expected due date on your new one?

Most dealers wouldnt have admitted it nor taken care of you like that. It makes the car buying process easy when you have a dealer like that even though you gotta do it all over again. Hopefully they can expedite the process a little for ya

"At least" is right..... how do you order the wrong color for the exterior and the interior. Something smells fishy here.....

What a buzz kill. That's not cool. What a way to leave a bad taste in your mouth about that dealership. I don't feel like their make good is all that great. They couldn't knock off some of the price for ya? Epic Fail on their part.

man that really sucks. But if they just ordered it does that mean your getting the 2011 since they stopped the 2010 production already?

How could that happen, if you were tracking it daily? You must have walked away with paperwork from the dealer the day you ordered. The day I ordered I was given an order sheet with interior and exterior color and all options. Not sure why that wasn't caught on order day or during the tracking process???

BTW welcome to the site and good luck.

Here is what he explained to me how the mistake was made. After we made the original deal, he printed out a pricing sheet for me. I looked at it again the next day, and couldn't understand how the numbers added up, so he told me to come back up and he would explain it. When he looked at the sheet, he realized that he printed out the MSRP prices instead of the invoice prices. He then entered in the data again to make me a new sheet that showed both the invoice and MSRP pricing, BUT he did not change the colors because it didn't affect the price. The numbers made perfect sense once I saw the new sheet.

Then, he put that sheet in my file instead of throwing it away. When the guy came around to order my camaro, he pulled out the wrong sheet. Silver with black interior is the default colors in the ordering system, so that's what I got. He showed me my file with both build sheets in it, and let me look over his shoulder when he ordered my new one, and the defaults are silver/black. He couldn't have been more appologetic, and he thanked me a thousand times for being so understanding.

Yes, I will be getting a 2011 instead of a 2010. I am glad that the pricing did not change for my car. That was one of the reasons I ordered when I did, because I was afraid the price might go up.

I just ordered a new one yesterday, and the wait is still 6-8 weeks. I will know more once I get my TPW.

I don't think $350.00 increase for the 2SS is gonna stop someone from buying it.
