What the OP is talking about is Brake Torque limit.
It is adjustable and can be used as a launch control but only if you have TC turned on.

Thanks jbsrace1. Have you raised the rpm? What is the limit?

It is based off of engine torque but it limits throttle when it hits the desired setting. I will have to go back and look threw my old tunes but I believe you can raise it 50-60ft lbs in the 75 - 100 tps range and still hold it without tire spin. If I remember correctly any more than that and it will try and spin on the street.

OK. Now I am curious as to why it works for some, and not others???

I also am over 500/500 to the wheels, and I can tap button twice to put into competition mode, apply brakes shift into S mode, apply throttle rapidly, and rpm's hold at 1300 let off brake and she takes off.

So is there something in the tuning that some tuners are doing, and others aren't????

It can be completely disabled in the tune or people my be raising the torque limit above what the tires/converter can hold. It is under torque management and I know some tuners that just go threw there and turn everything off. I turn allot off but like to keep TC functioning close to stock. (You just have to turn it off to play)

Most tuners get rid of it.Thats why all these tuned cars here say it just smokes the tires.
It can be done, and done with a stalled car.

If this is the case then what is the max stall speed that you can set this "launch control" to? Can you bump it up to 2k? So what you are saying is that you can adjust the converter to any stall speed desired?

I only messed with it for a few minutes. Was planning on tweaking it when the stall, twin turbo's go in. So,no answers on how adjustable it is yet.

Thanks Don. I was just curious as to what it's all about. I'll have to see what Ted has to tell me about it and the affects of adjusting it. Not that I would, but again, just curious.

It has the possibilty of working very good for a drag type of situation IF it can be tuned right for the added power level and be consistant.
