EDIT: thanks to those who understand the effort i put into this project, I like the feedback. Any constructive criticism is welcomed like, "tweak this and see how it looks" just saying its hideous holds no value. My flame suit is on though...

So last month I decided to take on the task of vinyl wrapping my car. Just wanted a new temporary look and something to cover my paint for the winter (my only driver). Took about 40 or so hours total and about $350 worth of 3M 1080 Matte White vinyl. It was A LOT of work and frustration. I'm not a professional vinyler(?) or anything I've only applied vinyl stripes and tinted my windows myself and thought I might as well try doing the whole car. So here are some pictures...with a little touch of hennesseyrgv style on the side he has an amazing Camaro if you haven't seen it check out this link (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165558)
Without further ado...my matte white Camaro:

i would suggest a 'rolling painting!" canvas is already in place!

So OP, would you go through the trouble to do that again? How hard was it and how long did it take? Explain the process a bit please
Well the only reason I would do it again, would be to improve it. I see the first time doing this as the learning phase, then any other time after that would hopefully get better and better. Would I do it any time soon? HHHHHeck no . Just way too much time is needed even to do a single panel. I really like doing things myself and taking on new projects, but this one was definitely by far more than I expected. So yeah I would do it again, just not soon. The hardest part is just getting out all the wrinkles and fingers on the Camaro's dramatic body lines, which I think the matte wrap does a good job of emphasizing and accentuating. Basically you cut the the vinyl to cover whichever panel, peel the backing, spray it with a soapy/water mix as a type of "lube", position it on the car, and begin the long preocess of squegeeing out the water so that the vinyl literally wraps onto the car. Then carefully trim away the excess with a blade. Sounds easier said than done, that is why I thought of doing it myself But add a little heat from the heat gun and it makes the vinyl much more shapeable for the difficult body panels. Even with the right tools that the pros use its still an immense task. My recommendation is to start small, just a bowtie, then maybe stripes or something, then try the roof, just don't go head first into a project like this or you'll be full of disappointment. Thanks to all the feedback good and bad, if you have any other questions just ask!

P.s. So the plan is to rework the sideblade (not exactly sure how yet) and then matte black the rear tail light area and license plate, mirrors, and front LS7 grille look. Just thoughts, but its still a work in progress

Overall I am not really feeling it, I think it looks unfinished. That being said what I do like:
-You did this yourself for $350, very cool I think I read that is cost much more than this. I know this is not something I could do nor would I have the patience for.

-You did it in what I consider a tiny ass space, did you see that one car garage?! Nicely done.

-I do like that idea of doing the vinyl over the black car as protection for the winter. Cool idea. I hope though come nicer weather you put the car back to original.

Like I said not my cup of tea but I like what you have done, the work you did and the goal you were going for. Nicely done.

Cheers
K

A for effort, especially on the first attempt something with large in scale. A couple of things, your doors would have been a lot easier (and quicker) if you removed the handles first. The hood looks like the piece was not large enough to cover seamlessly, or is just the photos?

You go to Mason right? Seen a few people post about your car on FB trying to figure out if it was painted or wrapped.
