What break in oil for Ls3 1st start up
Hello im new to this forum , I got a 2014 camaro ss that has 60k miles It accidentally got money shifted and exhaust valves smacked my pistons and bent most exhaust valves except for 3 of them I got new ls3 valves on it and I’m going to be throwing in a btr cam with standard size forged pistons and stock bottom end just got my crank polished now I just need to take my rotating assembly to get rebalanced and a hone with a ball hone, I’m wondering what oil to use for first start up?? I’ve been seeing the people mention the Joe Gibbs Racing Driven BR30

Driven seems to be doing well for me. I used BR for break-in and then switched for daily use. You can buy a full oil change kit from GPI.

8 quarts, you can run it longer than that.

20 Min was more for the older engines with Flat Tappets cams and a true break in oil, I still would only run it for say 500 Miles or so and then change it. I don't believe you need a true break in oil with roller cams and what not.

Is this the actual process of breaking it in?
