Will we know the exact date or week of delivery

I"d like to arrange my vacation around the new car. Once we have a target production week, will we know exactly when it will be shipped off to the dealership? I know it's not a perfect science, but at least an estimate?

I don't think we'll have an accurate way to guess it until people in the first group of orders pulled start getting their cars or at least start getting their order statuses moving along farther.

This thread should help us out alot with those type of questions as the order moves along the process

That's a tough one. It depends when your car is built. I suspect the ship timing will be weird at first and gradually get more predictable as things ramp up. But, you are correct that a lot of variables can affect ship timing.

In an age where we can track a letter or package thru UPS or FedEx, it's amazing how GM can't find a trailer of 4000 lb. cars at any given time. Most truck drivers have cell phones or CB's yet they can't be found once your car is shipped.

I have called Doremus (storage yard in NJ) and they tell me the cars are bayed and ready to ship and will be at the delaership in two days and then all of a sudden the truck shows up a half hour later.

Short story is there is NO WAY to get a guesstimate. It will be there when it gets there and someone actually toches it and checks your VIN.
