2010 camaro ss vs zl1
Hey guys I'm just curious, as much as I like winning I'm getting pretty upset. I'm currently 3-0 against zl1's. I understand many people will say it was the driver that I've beat but its three already. Even my buddy with just a cai on a 1le took one. Are they really that slow? What upsets me is that if I can beat them then I know a few 5.0's with bolt ons can too and that would really suck for a Camaro owner. Any tips that I can give those zl1 guys like putting the car in some type of race mode that will make them haul ass? BTW all I have is Lt headers ptb k&n intake and 3.91's on a m6. I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way for zl1 owners.

Kind of did lol. No sweat... uhm. A bad launch is going to fry them for sure, manual or auto. I dont know what your 60' times look like. Most likely better than theirs.

This is sort of true op. I personally know of a bolt on 5.0 M6 that took a stock Zl1 (I watched it two dfferent times) in Mexico.

Was it a ZL1 or a "ZL1". I see one on base with ZL1 fascia and badges, but standard hood and GM ground effects, no quad tip exhaust.

My thing is I have yet to been amazed. If I just have bolt ons and I can take them that bad then Idk what's going to happen when I get the nightfury. We done a 60-110 and I pulled like two cars on him. Yes he was on it, the z was screaming

I hope not. Its happened three times. Maybe its that hard to drive one. I've also seen them run high 12's at the track. My best was 12.7@114 60' was 2.2. That was my only time at the track with the 3.91's so more seat time I should be on mid 12's on street tires

We have mo issue locally having bone stock ZL run high 11's on GY F1 tires. Couple tweaks and faster still. Lost of variables in a street race so who knows.

Not saying it may not be so but there is a lot of cars with his setup running with stock SS rear end and cam, LTs. And yes in a 1/4 he can beat a stock ZL-1 with his mods. ZL-1 stock GM supplied engine dyno graph on left, stock LS3 on right. Notice how ironically the ZL-1 dyno shows less hp and tq until around 5200 rpm. This gives the SS an advantage in take off. I was always wondering why the ZL-1s I test drove felt less lively at the bottom and thought it was the tune but then I saw this.
