I had a blown, track prepped SS.
Sold it for a 4LT 2012 Grand Sport Will most likely trade in this GS on a 2nd-3rd MY C7.. But, that's just me.. I had a Camaro and ended up not enjoying it after a while.. Get what ever car you personally feel will make you the happiest. |

depends. do you want a high end camaro or low end corvette? (by low end I mean not all the goodies) also the stingray is the first model in a while so there will be flaws. either way youll be happy

As far as age is concerned, I'm 29 and I couldn't care any less what someone would think about me behind the wheel of a 'vette. For that matter, Camaros don't have the greatest reputations either. I don't buy my cars to impress or please other people, I buy them because they're what I like. Stingray, all the way. |

Economics:
1. ZL1 is going to use more gas, I calculated for city driving + $1200 per year. 2. Gas guzzler tax - ZL1 3. Tires - ZL1 stock tires will have to be replaced sooner and cost more. 4. Insurance, I priced it - ZL1 is slightly more than C7 5. Depreciation - Hard to predict C7 but ZL1's get hit hard and fast (look at autotrader). I truly think the C7 is just as much fun, has the WOW factor and will be cheaper to own year over year. |

Warning magazine racing...
I'll throw out some times from Randy Pobst at Laguna Seca ZL1 - 1:39.20 Z51 Stingray - 1:38.20 2012 Z06/Z07 - 1:34.43 2013 ZR1 - 1:33.70 The Vette as tested was just under $69,000. That's about $9000-$10000 dollar difference based upon which ZL1 you are looking at. The Stingray will throw down more consistent numbers due to the huge weight difference and gets better mileage, if you care about that. What would the same money do to a ZL1? Regardless, get whatever you want. If you don't need a backseat get the Vette. Personally, I'd never get a base model anything, hence why I have a ZL1. If you're going to pay six figures for a base Vette don't waste the cash and wait on the upgraded models to come out. A C7 Stingray can't touch a C6 Z06 or ZR1 with equal drivers. Wonder what that will translate into for the C7? |

My Stingray is night & day compared to both my other cars combined. The C7 is truly honestly amazing & fantastic in and out, especially for the pricepoint of a tad over 50K even for the base coupe. Never would have I imagined buying a Corvette before but this all new generation is a game changer, period. To the OP... go with what you like the best personally. Either way, owning a ZL1 or a C7 (2 different types of cars) is not a losing proposition. Good luck! |

Hardest part is trying to decide what color! Outside and then what color interior i want inside. I already know I'll go with a 3LT w/Z51, MSR, and Performance Exhaust. Love the Article White, Cyber Gray, and the first Stingray I've seen in person was the Night Race Blue! Wow, what a Beautiful car. And of course that Seven Speed Manual!
