1LE or ZL1
New fully loaded 2014 1LE minus Nav or new 2013 ZL1 nav and sunroof, 6speed, price diff of 7-8k. Which one and why?

Have chosen the 1LE coz rear and wing of ZL1 looked ugly to me, coz a pony car has to be supercharger-free, coz 580 hp is prolly useless and prolly too much, coz i didn't trust ZL1 suspension. In your case, depends on what you're planning to do. But i would never buy a car with sunroof... I know someone who have had a big and fast accident with his 1990 ZR1 corvette, sunroof exploded, he was nearly scalped and almost lost his hands when these scrapped on the road while the car was going upside down .... never get sunroofs ...

I would go with the ZL1. You get alot more for a reasonable price difference. I'm biased though.

Just say no to sunroofs. More weight in the worst possible location and less headroom.

IF price is not an option and you can manage the financing and insurance go with the ZL1. I was trying to find a used '13 ZL1 but was very very difficult to procure not to mention my credit union didn't want to finance a $48k car for a decent APR. I didn't want a '12 ZL1 which was easier to find and cheaper. I am happy either way cause the 1LE has really blown all my expectations and them some. Really love the car the way it sits modding is not going to be an issue for me because I don't want to mess with perfection. Sure a CAI kit and shorty headers down the road to stay compliant for smog in 5 years and to not piss on my warranty...

not sure why someone wouldnt trust the zl1 suspension. its been on top of the line caddys and its known for its quality. probbaly surpased by the z28.
zl1. just cause you have the hp, doesnt mean you need it. but it is damn nice to know its there are your beck and call. Pics on what you decide or we all come to your house with beer and chips.

ZL1 and go drive. No need to upgrade anything.

Like said before if price isnt an issue then there is only one logical choice. The ZL1 is clearly the better car......7K better but not 20K better.

I have alot of respect for both cars but bought a ZL1 in the end. Very easy to drive normal, or fast, and the mag ride works really well. My main deciding factor is the drive train is very strong, so if I want more power the car will take it with minimum risk. Either way you choose you will have an excellent car.

So a brake upgrade, a supercharger, and complete rear end among many other ZL1 specific parts are only worth 7 grand?

ZL1. A 1LE does not compare. Save the time and $ like I didnt do and just buy the ZL1. I made the mistake in buying a 1LE just to upgrade to a ZL1, 488 miles later.
