800 RWHP Tires Question

Currently my Whipple blown LS3 is roughly at 575 to the wheel. My stock rs wheels do not handle this well. I would like to upgrade to some black 20 inch wheels, (I'm thinking the Rohana RC10's) but I have no idea what they should be wrapped in? Also, how wide the front rims should be? I think the back should be 20x11 after doing some reading. I plan to get to 800 to the wheel and stay there one day. My car isn't exactly a daily driver but it does come out everyday there's a sunny sky and no salt and sand on the roads.....Suggestions?

What about Michelin PSS's? I am not sure if they are an answer or not, but they have been amazing tires for me so far, but I am just a little over half way to that power level.

I'm putting down 720 rwhp. I put on Michelin pilot super sport drag radials. 315's on rear and 285's on front. Once tires heat up I have a hard time keeping the front end on the ground at wot lol!!

It depends on what you want to do if drag racing/ roll racing where you won't need great up front grip go 9 up front. If auto cross/ road course racing a square setup will be best, I would run 20x10 on all corners. What exactly are you planning on doing with the car so I know what tire and size to reccomend.

Road warrior with the occasional track day. I really appreciate all the feedback! If I could afford it I would have show/normal shoes and a set of kicks just for the strip. One day....

Well if I were you go 9in wide up front and if you want 11in out back. If you do that I would go 305/35 in the rear. I have 315/35 on my rear setup and I think it's a bit much even though that's what's recommended. I would try the nitto nt555r first, they're drag radials but not as extreme as the nt05r or mickey thompson et street so should last a bit longer. As for the front if you run a 9in wide wheel you'll need 275/40 so you the tire height will be the same and any brand will do I use the nt555 NON (R) version none need for a drag radial up front.

NT555R a good comromise as an every day summer tire for big HP. So much more traction than the stock Camaro tires. They do not handle too bad either.

I run Toyo R888, Very good tire, a little rough on the highway, but great for road racing.
I run a square set-up 285
When I do straight line events I run Mickey's 315 (rear)
860hp
760 rwhp
900 fptq

You won't find any tire (street or DR) that will handle 800rwhp and not spin on the street...I've had every tire out there for my Black Widow 427SS...The Michelin PSS are the best everyday tire IMO, but will easily break loose with anything above 550-600rwhp. The Nitto NT-05R and MT ET Street DR's are a better option, but they produce an unpleasant "swivel in your hivel" if you get caught in the rain! The DR's are much better though for Roll Racing, but cars with that much power and 3.73 gears or lower will have a tough time getting off the line quickly from a dig on the street...As with any DR or slick, getting them hot & sticky is the key!
