H8 size battery

Has anyone upgraded to a H8 sized battery? Reason I ask is that my son totaled his Mercedes and it’s got a $300 interstate battery that’s barely a year old and my 12 SS is still on its original battery. I see they are very close in sizes and since ours are a trunk mounted battery I thought I’d try to switch it before they haul the car off.

I'm no mechanic, but I have read (and have been told) that as long as the battery puts out the required amperage and fits snugly in a car, then you're good. Only issues that I'm aware of is making sure the battery isn't moving around and the wasted money on an unnecessarily overpowered battery.
