Side step the clutch launch first (and only) try
I'd read some people recommending "side stepping" the clutch pedal on the launch, and figured what the hell, might as well try it at least once... I should have known better... I tried it on my 3rd qualifying pass, launch rpms ~2600, side step, DEAR GOD! That was as bad, or worse than using the factory launch control, I literally thought the rear end was going to rip out of the car from the violent wheel hop. I should have known better, but I can say I will not be doing this again.
I ran a 13.329 @ 106.19 w/ a 2.106 60' (4532 DA Corrected 12.584 @ 112.513) that pass. Aside from that the night went ok. I went out in the 3rd round, ran a 13.46 on a 13.43 dial, the other guy ran a 15.54 on a 15.52 dial. Also there was a 2011 5.0 Mustang out there, auto. I think it was not being driven so good, it was only running around 14 flat all night. Last edited by Jason@JacFab; 08-18-2012 at 08:00 PM. |
