The 370Z is quite impressive all things considered. It corners well and accelerates really well. But the SS is too much for it. In stock and modified trim. The Z comes from the factory almost peaked out. The factory exhaust manifolds are basically ST headers. And the intake is basically a cold air intake. Their cold air intakes cost way more than ours and offer little gains. And the same with aftermarket headers. They have nowhere near the available upgrades we have. Given the same mods, the SS will increase the gap it already has in the quarter mile. And a roll-on will totally destroy them. The Z can only compete stock vs stock in the quarter mile. And it still loses.

Why straight line race two cars intended for corners?
Take them to a big power road course and then to a parking lot tight cone course and see the differences. |

To me, it's pretty stupid to compare these two. The 1LE is in a different class of performance all together. Why has nobody compared the 1LE to the M3 with the Competition Package yet? People were going all gaa gaa for the Mustang vs. M3 comparison. The 1LE would decimate it. Best bang for the buck under $70k right now I think.

It would be an interesting comparison nonetheless. |

First comment at the bottom: "bought a new 2013 Camero in March and fell in love with it."

The 7at 370z's hang right with the L99s at the track no problem. Hell my 5at G35 has little issues hanging with them, you are talking about a 370z that's 400 lbs lighter then mine with 30 or so more whp and 2 more gears. You have seen how my car runs against L99's at the track, just use your imagination.
I would say a 370z 7at would take an L99 at the track with average driver in both. Tune really wakes up the Camaro though See. A 370z is basically my car with a 75 shot(to match it's power to weigh ratio), just imagine. I own a 400+ whp 4th gen LS1 Camaro, so don't go saying I somehow think the g35 is "fast". People just underestimate the 370z and other vq powered cars. Automatically assume the car with bigger engine will somehow be faster, just because of the extra displacement. It's like funny 2v mustang owners thinking they would beat my accord because it was 150% the displacement. Last edited by 08-G35s/6MT; 06-26-2013 at 02:49 AM. |

My very first run in was with a 370 nizmo and it jumped me every time but I would reel it in. Now that I know my car I would like to meet back up with it. ......

Pre 2013 Auto L99 Camaro are slow. Go againsnt a LS3 next time. And your nitrous argument is a fail; 75 shot is probably 125tq. No this 370Z engine is not making that much torque.

370z 7at's normally do low-mid 12's with intake/full exhaust and tune. That's really not too far off the pace of most 5th gens..
