I am going to college and a motorcycle just makes more sense than a car. I dont want one of those vespa scooter things and i would like to buy a used bike. Im interested in any styles, so if you have something shoot it my way!

You should look at a Yamaha FZ8. It is sporty but still a good everyday bike because you sit up pretty straight. You could get a used 2012 for 7-8k.

Going to be a contrarian here. I am an avid motorcyclist, it is in my blood. I can do 500 mile days, 10-days straight, without blinking.

A bike is NOT a practical alternative to even a car, especially a small car. My opinion, take the same 8-10K you would spend on the bike and get a decent econobox.

Reconsider a scooter. Lot's of colleges allow them to be rode right up to the bike parking. Would save you a lot of time. Granted they are far from cool, but keep it under 50cc and no tag is needed in some states.

In Topeka Kansas it's legal to ride mini bikes on the streets. There is nothing more bad ass than a vintage mini bike. I've got one I plan to restore soon.

Motorcycle instead of a car isn't a good idea IMHO. Too many weather issues to list makes the exposure on a bike a bad idea. I've ridden for 40+ years and wouldn't consider this a good decision. My son rode until college and realized I was right so sold his bike and kept his used car until graduation and is now in market to get his dream cycle; as a secondary vehicle, not his only transportation.

2012 kawasaki Z1000 has less than 800 miles on it.. Looking for $10,000obo it does have a new exhaust, fender eliminator, etc.
