I keep the ZR1 plug in all the time. Track or street (17k miles). Ill pull 1 or 2 after a day at the track to let Ted look at them but that's it. We swap them out at the start of every year.

That would be ideal,of coarse with the denzos we dont have much of an issue. I came across Denzos when we were racing for the ODBA championship, which is outboard two stroke. We would have to change out the NGKs everytime the boat hit the water, they would foul out.We switched to Denzos and ran the whole year on the same set! Also picked up a boat length out of the whole which is huge.,General rule is for every 75-100hp you should go one set colder, this is for WOT,if you drive that plug back and forth to work it may foul out. A spark plug takes HEAT out of the combustion chamber, higher hp =higher heat so you need the colder plug.

Right now i run TR6's on the street and switch out to TR7s at the track with a 150 Shot and 104 octane. It would be so nice to not have to do that since i really dont use the juice that much. I bracket race so no need for the juice in my opinion since my car is pretty consistent without it. However my car attracts a lot of attention where im from and its nice to hit it with the juice and race gas once in awhile without having to change plugs to give a show. I go back to 93 octane once i leave the track and have to switch the plugs back out. Its becoming a pain and ive done it several times

Think I'm going to try the Denso IT22's.

I just can't wrap my head around the idea of running a projected tip plug like the ZL1 for that. Especially on pump gas no meth. N/A or with some boost and some big power, maybe. Teds tuning is top notch but I could never suggest projected tip plugs with nitrous.
What is your build?

They DON'T. The Tune Up Controls Combustion Temps, if the plug gets hot enough to melt a colder plug will not fix that.. The Heat Range of a Plug has soley to do with keeping it self clean, it has been found the optimum combustion chamber temperature for gasoline engines is between 500°C–850°C. Within that range it is cool enough to avoid pre-ignition and plug tip overheating (which can cause engine damage), while still hot enough to burn off combustion deposits that cause fouling. Bonneville salt flats means Cold Plug Driving around the City means Hot Plugs. The Plugs that come in the ZL-1 are meant for Both. Ted.
