Guesstimates, STS 1/4 mile times?

Because STS doesn't seem to want to tell us and none of the guys who have it installed have run it yet, what are you guessing/hoping it will be? With most getting about 426hp at the crank do you think we will see LS3 times?

I figure it'll probably be close to a stock LS3, slightly faster.

idk i saw one video on youtube that i cant find anymore and one car actually added time with the sts. only thing i can think of is that the turbo takes way too long to spool up from the rear of the car

yeah... that was my video from C5 Fest... hopefully rditten will finish his install up soon and I can get him to the track before the snow flies! LOL! Also Jim is going to MTI Fest this weekend... but i'm not sure if it is road course only or if they are hitting the 1/4 mile also...

I've got my money on 13.1 or 13.2 on an otherwise stock car (I.E. no headers).

You can hold the brakes to rev the motor and spool the Turbo in an auto or launch at a higher rpm with a manual to help with Turbo lag... that being said, there are plenty of factors that could make the car run slower such as: less traction, temperature, altitude, humidity, tune, boost leaking, and slower shifting (causing turbo lag between shifts).

Well... if i'm running 14.0 with only 260ish RWHP and under 240 RWTQ.... and and STS is pushing 100+ more RWHP and TQ... car should be in the 12s....

I agree with scrming. It will have a better powerband than the V8 with same peak hp, will go to 7000 RPM and is slightly lighter. I would think 12s are likely. We just have to wait on Vince to work out the programming issues and we'll really see what the STS will do.

My lowly 2005 V6 Mustang with a Vortech centri making only 313 RWHP/290RWTQ went 12.8... yes, the car was lighter but a turbo should have a lot better (and more) torque then a centrifugal... What kind of torque number is the STS making?

Dyno from the Stang:

12.84 @ 107 MPH:

My last understanding is that the tune is working fine on Jim's car because he has kept it at a 5psi boost. Anything over that is causing MAF issues....probably frequency issues and the stock MAF can't handle the boost.

Again, as far as I know, this car is running just fine.

And I'm with Xanthos...very low 13s. But if the launch is good, well then I'll creep into the 12s too!

Torque??...ehh...Jim is quoted as saying "MTI did say the car has picked up 150ftlbs of torque".

But I think that dyno run was off because they couldn't actually gauge the RPMs correctly.

I could have sworm I saw a dyno somewhere with the torque between 325 and 350 wheel horse power....but heck who knows lol.
