Tips on winter storage - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

That time is coming sooner than I'd like it to, but does anyone have any tips on storing mny camaro during the winter? It's going to be in our shop with heat so I'm not really to worried about moisture. Im going to wash and wax it, full tank of gas, gas stablizer, car cover, moth balls for the inside, sun visors in the down position, maybe put on jack stands to prevent flat spotting the tires. Any other suggestions that I am maybe forgetting? Thanks, Derek

Sounds like you got it all covered. If your worried about rodents I'd shove sone steel wool up the tail pipes

Good idea, never thought of that, I hate those damn mice, last winter we found mice droppings in the trunk area and shredded papers towels back there.

Yea i found mice in my camaro last winter. it sucks. Put a bunch of bounce dryer sheets in the car, that can help. Put a battery tender on the battery or just take it out, although a battery can get weaker by just sitting there, so you should put one on anyway unless you want to buy a new battery. And be careful with fuel stabilizer, sometimes that stuff can do more harm than good. it can actually make your car not start. i didnt use it last winter, and the gas in the tank was totally fine. i also started it up every once in a while, partially because that can help, partially because i missed driving my camaro!

Aw come on bulldog! even i have a truck for the winter! its pretty easy to find a beater for fairly cheap, when i was looking i saw plenty of pretty decent small trucks for less than $700, and i know theres cars out there for less. Come on man, youre camaro is a hell of a lot nicer than mine, protect that beauty!

(and plus, its not much fun driving a camaro in the winter. i did it for 2 years

Damm I wish I had a second car. hopefully It doesn't snow here in oklahoma so I don't have to drive hear in the snow, ice, and salt. :(

my TA is going to spend the winter in the garage...Winters you need to find a beater or if you have your stock wheels still at least put them back on...your new wheels will look like crap by next spring...

I've been driving in the winter with my 94 v6 for the last few years, I know what ya mean.

I really need to.. I just don't think I can quite afford it yet. and my buddy Chris has some Z28 snowflakes with winter tires on them already

he's gonna sell em to me.

Depending on where you get your insurance, it shouldnt cost too much more, if any. i had my truck and camaro both insured for the summer, and it only cost like $40 extra. I say you should start lookin for a beater bro

I just park mine outside. Come back in the spring and give it a good wash, wax, oil change and its time to have fun again.
