Exclamation Big problem! Invoice price doesn't reflect early order discount! What do I do?

So the dealer called today and told me my car is ready to go. Woo hoo! But that is where the excitement ended.

Dealer had agreed to GMS pricing. I have access to GM invoices, so I pulled it up in the system to print it out just to have it when I go (I like to be prepared). Now I am seeing that the invoice pricing (which should be same as GMS) is wrong, all wrong! I haven't even been to the dealer yet but I am very concerned.

I ordered in January. I know GM has changed the price on this car in the meantime, but it was my understanding that they were honoring the price at the time of order on pre-orders. So, I figured out my total to be (based on Feb 18, 2009 GMS pricing on GMFamilyFirst site):

$31,072 2SS base price
750 dest charge
1,100 options (sunroof, stripes only)
______
32,922 TOTAL before tax, title, etc

now to my horror, I see on the invoice:

31,925 2SS base
795 destination
1,205 options
and to top it off, $348 'dealer IMR contribution' and $348 'LMA Group contribution'
______
34,621 total charged to dealer (assuming this will be same as GMS)

So the same car has just gone up almost $1,700!!! I had a hard enough time justifying spending this kind of $$ on a car in the first place given the deals out there on other new and used cars in this economy (my current car is an '06 Grand Prix that cost me $16K out the door, and to this point had been my most expensive car purchase), so I had planned on waiting longer to buy it if I couldn't get GMS. Luckily, I found a dealer willing to honor it, but it seems now GMS will hardly be a discount at all!

What do I do?! This seems to be a problem with GM and not the dealer...has anyone else run into this?? Not only is it higher than the January pre-order price I was expecting, it is even higher than the current April 1, 2009 GMS price reflected in GMFamilyFirst ($33032, which I could probably live with)

Am I reading something wrong? Maybe I shouldn't be concerned since the GMS price listed on the invoice is $33,032.25 and reflects only a $110 increase, and correctly matches the current FamilyFirst site pricing. But why would the dealer sell me the car at that price if they are being billed $34,622? I am at a loss for what to do. Any advice would be appreciated!

R6P orders were always going to show the invoice price at the current time. However, the dealership gets refunded the difference from GM, at some point. While they should pass that savings on to the customer either at the time of purchase, or after they actually receive the refund, it's between you and the dealer to make sure that happens.

You pay for what you agreed upon and don't worry about it.

They will make money even with the old MSRP's.

Don't let em' fool ya like old Bob Marley sings.

Delivered a R6P 2SS early May and we still have not gotten any "price protection" back from GM.

Enjoy your car and don't sweat the small stuff.

Who did you finance thru? They should of only paid the R6P agreed upon price.

My MSRP is at $34, 100 to start with for my 2SS. I say you're still getting a deal. After I pay the sales tax here in California and some options, I'm looking at the upper $40's for mine.

If I were you, I would go down and pay for it. Good luck in your decision.

Never roll over like that. You have to fight for what's right in this world. He's an RP6 and he deserves that price. If they didn't want to honor that price no orders at said pricing should of been allowed and even accepted with excitement.

I was informed that my dealer is only doing MSRP on sticker price - not pre-order. They told me there was no pre-order pricing! I think we need to start working on talking to GM as this is getting pretty crazy.
