That's sounds pretty good for a new model, will there be several trim levels offered?

Our Volt is the best car we've ever owned.

Nice! Price still dropping and that's awesome. Didn't these things start at like 42+ when they were first released?

I think you are correct....In fact, I sort of remember them being closer to 50K????.....Once they are available, I might take a look, especially for the California price....

Question for anyone who has purchased a new volt in the past. How does the tax credit work on a purchase? Someone told me its only applied to taxes you owe... Is this true? I typically get money back at tax time. Would I get an extra 7500?

You only get $7,500 if you pay more than that in taxes each year. if you only paid say $6,000, you'd get $6,00 plus your regular taxes back.

There is also a state refund which varies state-to-state and you may not qualify.

IL offered a rebate of 10% of the MSRP of the vehicle, but, they may be phasing that out for new cars.

So that sucks for me!!! I really want to get the new volt if I was to get more money back. The way they advertise is frustrating
