Coilover Problem
Hi everyone,
So I had BC Racing Coilovers Installed and I tried to lower them more by myself and it seems I have maxed them out. How can you tell if they were adjusted properly, I feel like the car should definitely be able to go lower with coilovers since I still have about 3/4 inch of wheel gap with them set up like this. Anyone have any ideas? |

That doesn't seem right. How did you adjust them?

Actually, looking closer at the photo it appears that you may have done it wrong. I think you may have turned the top two nuts down, unloading the spring. You should loosen the bottom nut, turn it up then the threaded portion visible between the springs screws into the base lowering it.

I used a couple youtube videos as guides. For the preload I loosened the middle collar and then top one, brought the top one to where it was holding the spring firmly and then tightened it another 10mm since I thought that would make a difference. Then to adjust the shaft I loosened the bottom collar and spun the top one til it closed up the gap. Now I feel like I should be a lot lower than this with the front coilovers apparently maxed out.

I used this youtube video as a guide to adjust the ride height. |

When you turned the top collar down was the middle collar tight against it preventing it from turning.

If you did it as in the video it should be right and lowered quite a bit.

I'm pretty sure it was, but I'll go ahead and do it again tomorrow just to be sure.

I would check it because it should be lower. Just thinking of what else it could be, is everything on the top seated properly?

I'm also wondering this, I believe the stock spring seat is discarded and only the one provided with the struts is used, did you get the stock parts back, if so, was the stock one with them?

No I did not, I only got my BMR Lowering Springs back. Is there a way I can check that without removing it?

You should be able to see it, if you look at the top of the spring it most likely has a black rubber piece on the top, the stock one is thicker and is yellowish in color.

I'll definitely check on that tomorrow morning and take a few pictures of everything.
