I'm a noob, please don't bash me too much
I've heard a lot of people talking about "tuning" their cars to bring out their true form. I don't know a lot about cars and I am wondering how and where I can do this. I have the L99.

Any trusted performance shop can do it for you. If you are worried about your warranty then don't do it since it will be gone. You should really tune it when you are going to do mods to avoid having to pay for a tune again depending on who you use for a tune.
I am not sure who is good in your area. I am sure others will chime in and tell you. Just make sure you do your homework on who messes with your car, there are a lot of good people out there but there are bad ones as well

below is a list of shops in your area that can help you, make a few calls or send a few emails so they can assist you! but basically what a "tune" does is re-calibrate the computers in your car to unlock more performance. its 100% worth it because the L99 comes with a heavily restricted tune. once you do some mods and get it tuned its a whole different car. start with an intake and a tune if youre short on funds or do what im doing, my mods are listed in my sig and i have an L99 as well! good luck and happy modding!

Steph09, these days everything your car does is run by a computer and by changing the programing you can improve (or ruin) performance. Tuning can impact your drivetrain warranty so it is not something that is usually done as a stand alone performance upgrade. |

If you are worried about warranty do not do a tune. As for the L99 put on a CAI from ADM to start with then look into changing up the gearing!!!! Changing the gearing will make a HUDGE difference in the L99

If you make the decision to get the tune, install all the mods that you already wanted to get beforehand, then go with the tune for best performance/saving money in the long run.

1.use the search button 2.use google 3.check a sticky 4.why do you own the car if you dont know these things?!?!? lol and all of the above are never said nicely, except for number 4 its pretty much said that exact way this forum is full of arrogant cocky people which is a shame because it gives us a bad name on other forums. dont get me wrong there are some great people on here though. but lets be honest, when youre happy with something you will tell 2-3 people when you arent happy with something you will tell 10 or more people. moral of the story the trolls need to be stopped! lol |

hows the A6 trany on the camaro? In the trucks a trany tune makes a big difference. OP on your car they will tune the engine and trany. The engine tune wont be much but if the trany is like the other 6 speed autos the trany really benefits from a tune.

It shouldn't be said in a mean way, but there is nothing wrong with expecting people to do the legwork for themselves. I usually get a thank you when I teach someone how to search their problems efficiently. He probably thought he was gonna get heckled because he knew that he had put 0 effort into answering the question himself. My daughters say the same thing when they ask me for help on their homework and they haven't even read the material they were supposed to.
