2010 Camaro V6 Auto shifter knob vibration

Well I have a 2010 Camaro LS auto that for some reason when winter started this year my auto shifter knob has begun to vibrate very loudly and is very noticable only at idle. I took it to the dealership and told them what was going on but they could not duplicate the problem but that is what they always say. Has anyone had this problem with their shifter knob. The funny part about it is that it only happens in drive at idle and not other times, I have switched to manual mode and it goes away. I really need some help on this. I have seen older cars do this but my Camaro only has 45,000 miles on it.

I don't think this has anything to do with the year. If it is the same noise my 12 is doing this. I not have 4000 on it

Had the same thing. Of course no way to duplicate it at the dealership.

I found that you could somewhat feel that at very slow speeds, like pulling up to a stop sign, and if you move forward slightly with the car in drive, you could reproduce it. Still haven't taken it in though.
interesting if you feel/hear that, sometimes moving it from drive to M will make it go away. I'm thinking that maybe the linkage is not aligned correctly.

There is a GM bulletin for a shifter rattle on these cars. They may not be able to duplicate it but if they check for bulletins they will probably see there is a fix. Let me know how you make out. Dont be too hard on the dealer. Not all of them are terrible. Just like doctors, you have some techs that are great problem solvers and some that are not. Send me a PM. If you are close I can help you at my dealer. Thanks

Probably because its not a bulletin. It's an internal PI. Which is like a bulletin to techs. It just hasn't happened enough to become a published bulletin. I will see if I can get it at work tomorrow.

Mine has done this since I bought in 2011. 20000 miles later still slight rattle. I have learned to deal with it.

Thats great if you can. Mine has done this at idle a ton of times. If you pull back on it with slight pressure(not shifting gears) it goes away. When you let off,it comes back. This is in park. Seems like when the car is facing slightly down hill, while in park, it happens on mine.

Well I took it in to see what it was, and they pulled up the service bulletin that you referenced and said that if they were to change a gromet out below the shifter knob to a updated on, which the part is only $6 but the labor do the job is $90. I can not believe that chevy will not fix my car, why would I pay almost $100 for a very small gromet to be installed. I just do not understand why they have service bullitens and know its a problem but will not fix it for free, its a known problem.
