Well I know that, but I may have over exaggerated a bit in that previous post.
...
I'm just a cheapskate hoping that the recaros were only 700$ or so

Well it looks like the local dealers have just gotten the pricing for the 2014 ZL1 in the Denver area; looks like I will be ordering one this weekend if the deal is right. Several want to add a markup to the cost, but I told them that I would not pay one and would shop until I found a dealer not adding to their pocket.

markup is so dumb... why markup something that will depriciate in cost as it leaves the lot.... stand your ground... good luck and enjoy the process...

in looking at the 2014 camaros here in kansas city. is frustrating. what you got as standard in 13, now an option like rear spoiler. the car looks naked wihtout it. now, its a 600 option. and more plasitc on back bumper. it seems they took some stuff off, and just added to the price anyway. what gives?

If you go SS isn't spoiler a standard? Are you looking at a V6 model?

Dealer price is the price the dealer pays for the vehicle, it already has the factory holdback subtracted from the cost. (I believe hold back is discussed earlier on this thread) The price you are likely to pay is somewhere between MSRP and Invoice price.

So should they be $1999 when purchased separately as well? If so that's a great deal! Also, isn't the Z28 going to come with manual recaros? Those should be cheaper aftermarket & lighter. I might have to look into that.....

Absolutely, that combo is probably the best bang for the buck in the entire automotive world. Stop by the 1LE section there are quite a few people with 1SS 1LE's. You can even take a look at some of the pictures of Mojave's Ashen Grey 1SS 1LE, it looks really awesome.

Thanks. That pretty much made up my mind on what I will be getting now that my GTO is sold. 1SS + 1LE + Recaros = Sign up for first available HPDE.

Cars direct mentions the difference between dealer invoice and Factory invoice.

Dealer Invoice
The dealer invoice is the price the manufacturer bills the dealer for the vehicles they purchase, plus any options equipped. This is in essence the dealer's cost, and is not generally shared with the customer. All dealerships pay this same general price for a vehicle from the factory, and it does not include any of the individual fees that vary from dealer to dealer.

Factory Invoice
The factory invoice is the total cost to the dealer for a vehicle. This price is the sum of the base invoice or cost for the base model of the car, plus the cost of options, destination fees and manufacturer fees. What many dealerships won't tell you, however, is that this value does not take into account factory incentives that the manufacturer may give to encourage sales.
