"Camaro doors just fly right open"
Has anyone else noticed how easily and rapidly the doors open all the way when getting out of the car. It sucks but with only a small amount of pressure the doors fly open and don't seem to have 2 or 3 more stops to click open to like just about every other car i've ever owned. Instead they just open all the way really fast to the fully extended position.
Just got home from dinner and my dumb azz friend let the door fly open into my other car in the garage so now my camaro has a chip in the passenger side door edge & my mercedes has a new door dent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

They do open easily, but mine does have spot half way open.

This is definitely going to be the reason why I have to get that Vertical Doors kit. I'm going to annihilate the side of my Camaro, and I don't want my Chevy to look like my Subaru.

Yeah i'm totally pissed. I need new friend! LOL but i have been noticing since i got the car last week that the doors don't really seem to catch in the halfway position!
Do you think there is anyway to make them stick open at the first notch in a better way than from the factory? |

Obviously the OP has never owned a 2nd or 3rd gen...
Then you would know why the doors open like that. |

There was a movie on I think uh.. Will Ferrell. He owns a 2nd gen fbody in RL and used it in a movie I forget the name. Anyway watch that movie and the scene where he closes the doors. Nuff said..
The doors where heavy and the mechanism was weak and they all pretty much failed. All coupes have large doors. If your used to a 4 door it will feel different to you as well. |
