I guarentee that RS/SS will be over 30k. My guess is the mid thirties for the RS/SS. I anticipate a tricked out RS/SS at 38k which will still be a bargin in my eyes.
As far as the dealer markups on Challangers I think this like all markups will die off soon enough. I anticipate we will see markups for the first several months on the Camaro but since they will be building 80-100k per year it is clear that the markup mania won't last long since GM will pump out as many Camaros as they possibly can. |

All of that and you didn't even mention the Mugen Si. 37k for a car that cost probably 10k to build. Not to mention the 29k msrp. Dealer markups are getting crazy now. Sit down at the sale guys desk and they should ask "we have this strawberry lube and normal lube, which would you like?" |

the only way to avoid dealer mark-up is for chevy to build enough vehicles to satisfy demand

Those prices are some serious b.s.. Anyone would have to be out of their mind to pay $50K or even over $65K for a damn challenger!!! I certainly hope this doesn't happen to the Camaro--no way I could ever afford it then. Those are Vette prices.

If you go to the off-topic section, you will see a race between gto and str-8 challenger.

And for that price, people would buy the vettes instead. You can get a 2008 vette right now for 30 grand from the dealer new.

The RS is just a package to be added onto an existing trim. The RS package will be available on all model camaros and will be available at launch.

I honestly have no idea why someone would buy the SRT-8 over the R/T. The R/T is $8,000 cheaper (assuming no mark-up), and only has 50 fewer horses. I can make an R/T faster than an SRT-8 for half the price difference.

The new RT is going to be 11k less than the srt8 and has only 45-50 less hp but the srt8 has 1 more rpm (8) does that matter greatly?. That's what I am getting. |
