Tar etching on car

Well I had no less then 50 little tar balls all over the front of my car (bumper & hood) and also see some on the roof, by the fenders basically all over my car. I worked on the front today and got most of them off but in some spots it left a bit of a grey area etched into the paint. Im saving up to by a PC from Adams' and already own their clay bar. Will the clay and PC be enough to get rid of this etching in the paint or am I s.o.l and need to consider a repaint?

PC should be enough.

Double down on your savings, hard to live with until then.

PC will probably handle it, but hard to say for sure w/o seeing the issue. Any pics?

I have a big tar spot on the front bumper and cannot get it off with tar remover or clay bar, any recomendations?

Makes me wonder if it really is tar and not a chip. I use WD-40 to remove tar, and it works well. I'd try some type of mild paint cleaner on the spot, like Meguiars Scratch remover.

It is tar, I can see it raised above the paint. I'll give the WD-40 a try.

I have used it on mine to remove tar with no problems. WD40 is wonderful. Here is a link to many of its uses:
