I use the smooth lotion fast orange hand cleaner to remove tar. Make sure it's the smooth (no pumice).

Usually they pave one lane at a time so that there is always an open lane for you to go into. Thats what they are doing over here anyways. Parts of 95 are being repaved, and they pave one side one night and then do the other side the next and so on.

That stinks!!
The way I usually drive to work has been all ripped up for the passed few weeks -- I made the mistake of thinking "maybe they're done" a week or two ago and had to drive on a road that was all just chunks of rock -- and up a huge hill -- I barely made it b/c I was going like 4 mph trying to fling up those huge rock chunks against my car....

I now keep going the loooooog way around -- time be damned, I'd rather take longer to get to work then have to drive in that crap again!

Sorry to hear about your Camaro. I keep tabs on your threads as we have pretty much the same mods and looking for the same type of wheels so I really do feel for you. :( Hope it comes off with minimal effort and leaves no damage as you guys have a beautiful car. Good luck.

You're kidding right? The county or whatever paid them to "pave the road"... not "pave the road but lookout for Camaros". They will pay for nothing.

Y'all do realize that road paving is a 'damned if you do-damned if you don't' proposition, right? You honestly can't win. If you don't keep the roads up then people complain about the bad roads and potholes. If you do keep the roads up then people complain about the construction and the tar.

I would HATE to be on a road & bridge board. I'm sorry the OP's car got messed up, I'd be mad too but there's no one to really be liable here. You just fix it and keep on rollin'

Thanks guys! I made it back from the car wash a few hours ago. The paint and wheels are fine. I got it all off. However, the tires are still coated with asphalt. I really want hubby to take the car to the garage next to where he works so can put the car on a lift, take off the wheels, and then remove the asphalt manually some how. If he doesn't, it will simply continue to come off while driving which will only make more future clean ups necessary. To add insult to injury, there wasn't supposed to be any rain today. I left the car outside because I couldn't put it back in the garage due to the landscapers' truck that blocks my garage entrance EVERY FREAKING TIME they do our complex's lawn.. I look outside and it's suddenly black. I get on line and there is a small little thunderstorm right over us. It poured for about 15 mins. So now my freshly washed car is now spotted. I really should have followed my gut this morning when it said DOT NOT GO OUT TODAY. I really didn't want to because I was tired from our new kitten keeping me up all night. But Danielle threw a fit and insisted on going to her math class. Next time, we are staying home! lol.
