Well....here's the news. I've learned quite a bit about clutches over the past two days. I'm sure I have a whole bunch more to learn, but... I also learned that they are pretty damn expensive (OUCH!!!). The stock LS7 clutch which is now going in all the 5th Gens (the LS3 clutch was replaced a while ago) is only $350 from GM. If you want a twin disc clutch for boosted set ups and higher hp, the price goes way up from there. Depending on the manufacturer, it ranges anywhere from $1,500 to 2k....just for the kit. Naturally, I'm going to stick with stock for now. I have no turbos or a maggie. So until that day comes, I might as well just keep it stock and save a few bucks. ...especially since I just shelled out so much with the Tahoe. Sucks. But...at least it'll get put back together here in a couple days.

That is what I'd do. 350.00 is worth it even if you looked at it like renting one until you up the power a lot. (labor wil suck)

And even then, that clutch will handle more power just fine. Lot's of guys are running 550+ WHP on a stock clutch. Might be just fine. Maybe a 'Clutch Fund' after that. haha

New clutch has been in for a week now. Nice and smooth...but clamps down like a mofo only an inch out from being fully depressed. Much different from stock.

And...I've forgotten just how bad ass it is to drive this baby on long fast drives. Took it an hour south of SA today to sell a part. Going 85 with these supercars...the tires...the set up....damn man. This thing just FLIES and sticks to the ground like glue. DAMN I love it.
