I maybe barking up the wrong tree here, but way was it so hard for GM not to name it Z28.

This wasn’t the right car for the Z28 name. In the opinion of most, Z28 should be a lighter weight (probably naturally aspirated) car focused on track performance - for example, a car with more horsepower than SS but equal or lighter in weight with superior suspension at a cost between SS and what ZL1 will be. ZL1 is heavier and supercharged and not really in line with the Z28 name. The Z28 should also be cheaper than what the ZL1 will cost. ZL1 – competitor to GT500; Z28 – competitor to Boss 302. The ZL1 name just fit this car.

IMO if GM had released the Z28 first, everyone would automatically compare it to the GT500 anyway and call it a failure asking if that was the best GM could do to compete with the GT500. GM had to release the ‘big dog’ first to end all speculation. Now if they release Z28 it will be icing on the cake.

...absolutely yes Radz!. Perma grin can be easily obtained by watching clip 1 and clip 2 sequentially, repeat if necessary (heck, I watched it three times in a row at full volume this morning, and grabbed co-workers to witness it with me, they had stunned looks and huge grins too)

The in-car vid is the best. I've watched them both at least half a dozen times each, and I'm still getting chill bumps.

Daddee wants to drive ZL1 ... NAO !

If you really want one soon, better commit now. They will in ALL likelihood have the first allocation sold before it gets there & you'll have to wait until all the sold orders are filled before a test drive.

Totally up to you, but fair warning.

I'm in a hurry to get behind this wheel.

Thanks for all of the Birthday wishes from everyone. It has been a good day. Tons of new ZL1 information and videos. Booked a flight to LA to see the ZL1 at the OC Auto Show and get to spend some time with my youngest daughter. Waiting for Fbodfather to deliver my ZL1. Going to dinner with my wife and catch a 7:00am flight tomorrow morning. Great Birthday so far.

Also did you guys notice that there are only a few leaves on some of the trees in the background. Which means that this testing was probably done 10-11 months ago?
It wasn't the transporter that they were hiding in the previous video, it was the new cadillac ATS sedan they were testing instead.

Umm. This car does things that just aren't humanly possible!!!

My Jaw muscles hurt, I have cold chills, and my arm hair is standing up all within 3mins.

If just a video affects me this much I think I might die from sensory overload before the odometer hits 100.
