67 Dash in 69?

I am thinking about buying a 69 ss and i want to put a custom touchscreen in it. The dash of the 69 doesn't look like there is any room to put it where it would make sense. I do like the 69 a bit more than the previous years because of the beefier body otherwise i would buy a 68. So my question is can you bolt a 67/68 dash in a 69 or will it take some modifications?

The dash panel face is spot welded in place. So the short answer is no. The '67 and '68 are quite different so it would require cutting the old out and welding the new in.

'69 on top, '67 and '68 below, and an almost 67 stripped body shell.

It is possible however to bolt in just about any dash you want if you have the skill. Entails cutting out the old, temporarily mount the new dash and fab brackets to bolt it into place. Easy, no, but it is possible. There is a guy in our Camaro club (don't have pictures here) with a '69 Dynacorn Camaro 'vert with a full interior out of a mid-late '90's Firebird. Also found this example of a modern GTO dash in a '69.

Well since I mentioned it and I'm home now...
I'm not too good with names, and his escapes me for the moment(SORRY!!!), but his car is awesome! He was there for at least one of the C5Fests at Indy.

As stated above your better off building a custom dash. In my current project someone had installed a modern head unit, but did a hack job. I also had to account for the angle to make the new head unit functional. Sky is the limit pending on what you want to spend.

There is room, but you will looses the ash tray.
