Chrome wheels weigh more but people are still willing to pay more to buy them, even on cars designed for all out performance like the Z06 & ZR1.

I've said it before, but an all-out, take no prisoners car such as the ZL1 (and the Z06 & ZR1 for that matter) should have an "all business" look to it and the SSX wheels fit the bill perfectly. Flash not required.......in fact, flash would look out of place in my opinion.

I agree. I was just scared that these ZL1 wheels would be something you'd have to pay for extra. I love these wheels.

Then you and I can consider ourselves lucky. However, I'd consider myself VERY lucky if they're available in Comp Gray

I started to post this as a separate thread but opted against it. Chevrolet website states 305/35R20 tires on 11" wheels (for the rear). When I did some research on this tire it states that they can be mounted to a wheel up to 12" width. So, here is my question about the stock ZL1 wheels/tires - Wouldnt it be better to get the standard 11" wheel then replace it with a 12" wheel of your liking since the tire supposedly fits and it gives you another inch of rubber to the road? What is your opinion?

I will definitely be ordering the polished wheels that were on the ZL1 at Chicago. I hope that the polished wheels won't be a major (much more than $500) up charge.
Agree, black just isn't my style either. Need something to break up the black/black my wife and I anticipate ordering.

Red ZL1, suede interior, and SSX wheels. Going to have to make the camaro emblems and the chevy emblems all black. I cannot wait.

From a selling standpoint, I would not offer black wheels as standard, because I think most people like polished, chrome rims. However, I am a fan of the ssx wheels!

Simply explaination they changed thier minds between the time of the camaro fest and the camaro nationals. I believe the reason being is the SSX rims cost less to make then the polished rims.

It just occured to me, it may also be a continuity thing. The ZR1 and Z06/Z07 come with black wheels standard, and the other finishes are upgrades (the GT500 PP also comes with Charcoal wheels). Just a random thought that made sense, no clue if there is any validity to it.
