I have also too, from people I dont know. I personally know 5 Corvette owners that have been going to Rick at Synergy for 15+ years and they all cant say anything bad about him, they highly reccomend the shop. Not to mention hes been working on LS motors for 25+ years.... Talk about experience!

Here is the dead honest truth. I have heard bad things about him, but never directly from anyone. Just the 'I know a guy who knows a guy' type thing, so maybe he just pissed someone off. The truth is he's still in business and doing well. HOWEVER If you are willing to pay his rate, go to Borelli Motorsports. Same rate, and they are a pro shop. Visit both and you will see what I mean. Lastly, I was a huge pro-Blu808 guy. He built my engine and honestly he did a great job with the cam swap. However I have had problems with everything else that was done there. Now that Luke has lost his main tech it is very difficult to get a hold of him. As a result I've decided to move away from Blu808 to Borelli, even though I will now have to pay to fix the suspension that I already paid to have installed correctly at Blu808... -edit- Another challenge with taking your car to Blu808 is they have limited resources and commonly 'subcontract' out various tasks. So it takes longer to get your car back. |

It would have been better if you contacted us directly regarding any problems you may have had with our work. We stand behind all of our work and you know that. The only item we had subcontracted out was your rear gear install. I knew you were in a hurry to get your car back, and I decided to have rear end specialties do the work. The only reason was so you could have your car back since we were booked solid. They also did the work at a reduced rate which saved you money, and I spent a few hours dropping off the car to them in Santa Clara and picking it up for you. Would you mind specifying which issues you had with us? Regarding our staff change. It is common for a shop to change technicians through the years. We did lose one of our techs but have since hired a new lead technician. |

Luke,
I'll PM you with specifics, and if needed, can post the result here. However, I did come to you first before posting here. I just don't want to have the discussion here and have people misunderstand anything since they weren't party to it. I said above, and will say again: You do great engine work on the LS3 and will happily recommend anyone to your shop for it. |

If you look all of the threads on this topic you will see pro and con on all of the bay area shops. The simple fact is, everybody screws up sometime. Anyone who says they don't, I say The measure of a good shop is do they do quality work and when the do make a mistake, do they step up and fix it. I have heard people say that Newtech was lousy. Nick tuned my SS. I had a problem with it running lean at low RPM. He took the time to correct it at no charge. I would have no problem going back there for more work.

I have nothing, but positive reviews about Blu808 and its staff. They have quality workmanship, good service, reasonable prices, and are highly knowledgable in late model GM's. What more could you ask for in a shop?
