Bummer. For all of us, how would you know this problem exists unless you pulled the valve covers and removed the rockers or (please no) dropped a valve?

The problem is they're going to ask you how you knew it was broken... If you say somebody else was installing a cam, I doubt there is any way they will warranty it. You could always just have the guy replace it while he's in there. It's not exactly an expensive part.

You don't pull the cylinder head to put in a cam but you do to replace a valve.
