Part time usage
I live in the NE and while it's cold (<30F) the snow hasn't hit yet and I still would like to cruise. The problem is having the car sit for a few weeks combined with the cold seems to run the battery down. Can someone tell me the advantages of a trickle battery charger and what is good one to purchase?

Battery tender jr can be had for under 25 bucks. I use them on the bikes all winter, no issues. You can hard wire it to the battery and leave the pig tail in the trunk. It would be very fast to hook/unhook. Get the 25' extension, you'll appreciate having it.

I've seen those in some catalogs. So I can leave it attached to the battery and it would only charge when it senses it needs it?

Yes you just leave it plugged in, it maintains the charge with internal circuitry.

if your battery is going dead that fast I would check for a draw. It should stay up for a couple weeks. I have a battery tender on a forklift that has a draw and it is not worth trying to fix and it works great just to keep the battery up.

Ryan, I think I'd be more concerned about that hand truck and wheel borrow falling on my ZL1! ( ok, if I had a ZL1 )
Seriously, Battery Tender all the way. I use them on both cars and my neighbor who is battery guy for FMP's swears by them.

It's not going anywhere unless a tornado hits the house then it really won't matter much
