(V6, AT) Can a tune block downshift....
hey, I was wondering if anyones knows if a tune (trifecta) can disable automatic downshifting to first gear on manual mode, unless I'm going less than 4 MPH.
Because right know when I'm using the paddle shifters, if I need to stop as soon as when my car gets around 11 MPH it downshifts to first gear...  and I can hear a very loud knocking sound....This car should not downshift to first gear unless you're going really slow.... |

Your best bet would be to ask Vince, if he's able to tune the TCM in your application he can probably adjust it.

Wait are you saying it downshifts to 1st as soon as you hit 11mph or does it downshift when you come to a stop?

I have the tune and mine downshifts at 6-7 MPH. Don't know if the tune has anything to do with it, but I would ask Vince. I was checking mine today after reading this post and I can say those results are quite consistant for me
