Choosing rim width

I'm purchasing some Fordgeline wheels on monday and need some input for rim widths. The rear are going to be 10.5" for leaving options of either running 295's or 305's, but going to run 295 for the time being. The front is where I'm debating 10" or 10.5" to try to run 295's all the way around. Or with the 10" rim, I'll have the option to run 275's when I have to. Why the big front debate? I will be going to track days and if I run 295's on 10.5", the front will stay planted in the corners. I also will be doing Open Road Races in Nevada and Big Bend in Texas. What's your opinion for the Front rim width? Should I going 10.5" all the way around or 10" in the front? Oh I will also have the Pedders Xtreme Track package installed, on order right now. Thanks Peeps.

I have 10.5 on the front but in 20" not 19" and was told it can not be done so, I say go as big as you can this car needs it in the front.

I'm also sticking with 20" rims and I'm going with Nitto tires. What tire combo are you running. I've also heard that about this car, that this car does dive into the corners and needs quite a bit of help to turn. There's tons of tire options for 19" wheels and that's another thing I may consider buying is a set of 19" since I'm swapping tire brands. I was gonna go with 305 PZero's but the treadwear is a 60. $410 down the drain on the first track day. The Nitto NT05 is the tire I'm looking at and the the big ones they make are in 275 and 315. No 295, hopefully in the future they'll come out with a 295 for NT05.

The key with the front is the size O.D. if you go with a 305 and a 10.5" rim you have to use a 26" tall tire and in a 20" that is a 305/25/20 so that is what i have for the front and that is if you have the pedders XA coilovers on the car, and then the right offset for the rims, The tires are nitto evo.

Good info. My Camaro should be here in 3 weeks or so. Pedders are on order and just need get the wheel and tire combo down so I can go ahead and order the wheels monday. It takes about 4 weeks or so to make from Forgeline.

cool. Yea, me and Mike Haddad at Haddad Motorsports have been trying to come to an agreement on Rim width and tire combo. So now I'm going to go with his recommendation of 10.5" all the way around. Even with a 10.5" wide rim, we could in theroy go as low as 275 Nitto's on both the INVO's and NT05 recommended rim width is 9"-11". We are going to play with the idea of running 295's all the way around and see how the performance is going to be.

I've ordered Forgeline's 20x10.5 and running Nitto INVO 295/35/20 on all four sides. I should be getting the wheels anytime soon, since I ordered them right after Thanksgiving.
