Why did you purchase a Camaro LS?

I was reading the LS thread and it occured to me to ask why? Its a V6 its plain no options so why would one pay for a LS.

My Wife and friends gave me some sound advice. Sure its a V6 but its a 312 HP V6 not the V6's of old. Next the car I was going to purchase was a 2012 Ford Focus. Since the dealer did not have any on the lot to test drive. My wife knowing I had owned a 1967 Camaro asked if I test drove one of the New Camaros. I was like no I havent, I then looked into the Camaro and it was 24K vs the Ford Focus 25K (Loaded). I loved the Green Color and the performance of the 6 was better than the Focus for the price. Plus no one ever smiled or waved at a Ford Focus. Not the reason I bought the Camaro although its nice to have someone like the car I drive.

To wrap it up, I love my Synergy Green LS V6 Automatic Camaro. I am at 4500 Miles and I dont see me trading it in for anything else. Well truth be told If I won the lottery I would buy a ZL1 and have it Painted Synergy Green or Aquatic Blue Mettalic.

LS owners bring the story why? or not.... lol...

I got mine so I could add what I wanted to add a little at a time-CAI, then cat-back exhaust, fog lights, Eagle Eyes etc...As a result, Ol' Blue is TRULY one of a kind and that makes her VERY special!!!

For me there were several factors, main one being price. I had some negative equity in the truck I was trading in so I knew that was going to increase my monthly payment. Once that was realized, I knew I was going with the V6, the car is a daily driver and I did not need all that horsepower and gas guzzling with a 60 mile commute daily. With all that considered, i like to mod, so the LS, was a good blank slate. And at the end of the day it's still a 5th Gen Camaro. It's been 9400 miles, and I couldn't be happier.

No need to justify your purchase. If someone asks you why? Ask them, 'Are you making the payments? If not, then don't worry about it.'

Hmmm, I don't think that's what the OP asked.

I didn't buy an LS but I did look at them, and have no problem with those who do. It's like buying a blank canvas, and you can do with your car whatever you want

I'm guessing because of price. I bought a 2ss because I could afford it, I won't be getting a zl1 because I couldnt comfortably afford it. I think I got a car I love that's affordable to me, I hope (and think) most ls drivers feel the same

Almost the same reasoning as the OP. For what I could afford, it's either a loaded Focus or Hyundai, or an LS. Having rear-wheel drive, a six-speed manual and 323HP appealed to me more than leather seats or a fancy stereo. No regrets

Like one guy said, no need to explain. We're all aware that for some it's because that's all they want and for others it's about the money. These are the only answers you're going to get.

because the 4k-5k i saved on price between the rs and ls i was able to put into performance mods.....borla catback, cai, headers, custom seat covers etc so a "plain" rs or a modified Ls i rather get the mods for the difference in price.

i didnt know what i was looking at when i first started my car shopping. the black wheels originally appealed to me because i wanted black rims anyway, same thing with the black fog covers, helped with the blacked out look i wanted. so i bought it.

Because people love to ask the same stupid question over and over and over again. Wait... I should rephrase that... There are no stupid questions just the people that continue to ask them over and over and over again. :respect:

RS is a Package the Rally Sport Package. I swear to god this irritates me to no end when people call the V6 Camaro an RS.... No offence or anything
