Odd, car completly died at work and etc..

Well i had an odd experience today, parked my car at work, came out for lunch, started her up took the car to get my lunch parked the car, locked it, went in finished my day, came out to go home, and my car was completly dead, had to go inside to get the jump box *luckly i work at a body shop" hooked it up, started right up no problem, but now my radio is all messed up, alot of images are not showing up, CD player and everything has like no display, it lights up but doesnt show what track im playing or anything. Im taking it to my local chevy dealership tomorrow, but odd, anyone have this problem?

oh and also to mention, for awhile now, my car has randomly been resetting, somtimes i would start it, and my interior gauge and lights would flash and it would eject my CD and reset my settings, and not long ago i turned the key and it clicked once then seconds later it started, so chevy will have fun with this one.

Going out on a limb to say its electrical? Battery related? Radio is all "wot?" right now, it seems it lost any settings it had before?
IDK, taking a stab in the dark.

yea most likely when it comes to dealing with anything electric the first thing to check is if your battery is connected properly and not loose, cause a non connected battery resets all your settings.... as for the screen not showing up idk there

If all else fails, it's under warranty.

Doesn't the radio have its own backup battery? I know when my battery is disconnected the radio doesn't loose any of its settings.

Yep, definitely sounds like a bad battery or bad battery connection.

I had a similar thing happen to me.

I went out to start my car after work, and it started up great just as usual.... but none of the gauges were working. The radio came on, but the tach, speedo, and information center was completely off, no lights, no readings. I turned it off, opened the door, shut the door, started it up, and same thing. So I drove it across the street to the gas station. I turned it off, got out, grabbed a drink inside, came back out and it started up, all lights working and everything proper; back to normal. Hasen't happened since. It wasn't rainy, wasn't windy, decent 65-70 deg temperature... I'm kind of at a loss... Def dont want something going awry while Im driving it or far from home you know. Reliability, thats what getting a new car is all about Right?!

My negative battery cable was loose from the factory.

worth investigating. thx

Also, I noticed my VIN is #855, maybe the early ones had issues?

and now I see you have an '11 so scratch that idea.

I could research this further to see what I can find about your question. All I would need is your name and VIN. Thank you for your time.
